CLOSE YOUR EYES turns on a famous Spanish actor, Julio Arenas, who disappears while filming a movie. Although his body is never found, the police conclude that he has suffered an accident at a cliff by the sea. Many years later, the mystery is brought up once more by a TV program that tries to evoke the actor, offering as a scoop images of the last scenes in which he participated, shot by his close friend, director Miguel Garay. The beginning and the end of an unfinished film.

Flora and Victor are winners, capable of taking their competitiveness to the extreme, even in their marriage. So much is their hatred of losing that they have no problem arguing to the bitter end in order to win a fight, or to simply prove who’s right or wrong, no matter how absurd.

Frederick Salomon, a war photojournalist who became worldwide famous for capturing the image of a girl flying through the air as consequence of an explosion, returns to the country where he took the celebrated picture twenty years before.

He is back to receive an award, as many consider him an essential piece in the recent peace efforts in the troubled country. But a local journalist called Hanna doesn’t agree, and wants to kill him for a reason only Salomon knows.

Joaquín, Brujo and Luismi, three neighborhood slackers, reunite after twenty years. Brujo and Luismi are still out of work, each with a side hustle here and there, whereas Joaquín has become an important and well-known businessman. At least that’s what he thinks... At forty-seven, Joaquin is still living in the Orcasitas neighborhood with his mother, Esther, his yo-yo champion daughter, Brenda, and his younger brother Chema, a welder and Wing Chun master. Joaquin lives in apartment 9B, nine stories above his reality.

Joaquin’s life, and that of his family, is going pretty badly until one day it goes worse after they get a court injunction informing them of a lien placed on their home because of an unpaid loan taken out by Joaquin that Esther cosigned. Joaquin will try to get the money to avoid eviction but Brujo and Luismi’s brilliant ideas will plunge Joaquin even deeper into misery.

Sister Marina, a very unorthodox nun, is sent during the summer of 1994 to El Parral, a boarding school for boys threatened to be closed soon. Even though the kids welcome Marina with all kinds of pranks, they will, little by little, become something very close to the family they never had.
